Position Description The Sr Electric Sys Operator will work with Power Systems Operations Unit under Ras Tanura Refinery. This position has 24-hour responsibility for operation and initial troubleshooting response to emergencies, construction, and maintenance efforts on Ras Tanura Refinery Power System transmission and distribution power lines and substations equipment. Candidate will provide the highest level of electrical operations expertise to safely operate equipment at 230 KV and below. Candidate will be exposed to high stress while performing hands on operations during system disturbances or emergencies. The roles &responsibilities of the Sr Electric Sys Oper: - Performs as shift work director for electric system operation activities, schedules jobs, and provides liaison with the central dispatch coordination unit to coordinate the work. - Monitors operation of all substations and circuits in the area of responsibility. Maintain clearance, hold tag, and work permit logs; switching programs, points of isolation, mimic board to show total system configuration and provides system operational guidance in his area of responsibility. Candidate shall ensure that that logs and regular reports are maintained on dispatch activities. - Develops detailed switching instructions and procedures for scheduled outages, emergencies, and control of system disturbances and is responsible for overall impact on the system. Orders system paralleling and breaking of parallel and Issues hot work permits and cold work permits - Issues clearances and work permits, using established procedures, to authorized personnel. Ensures that work permit receivers are aware of the limits of the clearances and work permits and adhere to all applicable safety requirements. - Provides clearances for additions and deletions of load to the distribution system during emergencies. -
Minimum Requirements A. COMPLETION OF ITC: ENGLISH, ER; MATH, MI. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 8 YEARS. Valid Saudi Arabian Government driver's license. CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) certified. Certification by ARAMCO Loss Prevention to issue Hot Work Permits, Cold Work Permits, and perform Gas Testing. B. Eight (8) years experience in power system construction, commissioning, maintenance and operation with emphasis on the operation of transmission and distribution systems and substation power apparatus. Working knowledge of power system installations in assigned area and pertinent portions of the Producing Instruction Manual, General Instruction Manual, Power Distribution Instructions, Construction Standards and other applicable codes. Meets all the requirements of Electric System Operator I, Electric System Operator II, and Maintenance Electrician II. C. Fluent command of the English language, both oral and written. Comprehensive knowledge of safe operation, capability, and system impact on electrical transmission and distribution equipment under all working, weather, and physical conditions. Ability to read, interpret , and modify power transmission, distribution and substation schematic drawings. D. Demonstrated leadership talents, ability to handle stress situations, highly motivated to train subordinates, and has a comprehensive knowledge and awareness of company policies. A thorough knowledge of electrical safety procedures and requirements with a confirmed and dedicated attitude towards safety and a proven determination to enforce safe work habits. Good working knowledge of applicable Saudi Arabian and U.S. electrical codes. Ability to recognize deviations from ARAMCO Engineering Standards and other applicable standards in new construction and existing lines and equipment.
