  1. Post Present Around The World (PATW) Competition (Open For Anyone)

    Dear All,

It is to the pleasure of The IET and its Young Professionals in Egypt to announce the organization of the IET’s Present Around The World (PATW) competition in Egypt this year. PATW is a Global competition organized by the IET and lead by the Young Professionals of its members worldwide.

The worldwide competition comprises mainly three rounds/levels:
    a) Local (on the country level, in our case it is Egypt),
    b) Regional (where national winners compete on the Regional level, in our case it is the Europe, Middle East and Africa),
    c) Global (where 5 regional winners are chosen to compete on the Global level).

The IET sponsors the PATW competition worldwide to encourage valuable contributions to the engineering discipline and recognize young and talented engineering students and professionals.

This year the National PATW IET competition will take place in Egypt for the first time on the 26th July 2010 in the British Council (date and venue are subject to final confirmations). The main focus of the competition is on students, graduates or recently graduated students who are capable of presenting their engineering projects and ideas. PATW is not restricted to an engineering discipline or subject, but rather open for engineering relevance and capabilities in presentation.

Every engineer/competitor will present his/her project for 10 minutes with 5 minutes for Q&A. The National winner from Egypt will have the chance to participate in the Regional finals and hopefully in the Global finals in UK before the end of this year.

The IET allocates a winner and runner up (1st and 2nd place) valuable prize equivalent to 175 British Pound and 75 British Pound respectively in addition to a free one year membership to The IET. The global PATW winner is eligible to a prize equivalent to 1000 British Pound!

We need your kind help to reach out for interested and capable students/recently graduated engineers who are willing to take the challenge. We intend to run a Q&A meeting soon to be announced. The deadline for submission is Monday 12th July and there will be a pre-screening criteria to chose the best 10 competitors from different participating universities to join the national finals on the 26th July.

We only require the presentation, a presentation brief (on page) and a personal CV for pre-screening.

The presentation should be in English.
You don't have to make the project ... just the idea.

    Best Regards,
    PATW Organizers Team.

Feel free to ask about anything
